| 内容記述 | In this experiment the components of old timbers were analysed in comparison with new timber to research the influnce of age on the components of woody substance. The samples used in the experiment have bee 7 kinds of timbers taken from old Buddhist temples in Japan. They have respectively been from 350 to 1,300 years old. I have also used a new samples for the comparison, and their species are all of HINOKI (Chamaecyparis obtusa ENDLICHER). The results obtained by this test are as follows. (1) There are three groups of components which increase and decrease and almost constant the quantity with the lapse of time. Water extract, alcoholbenzen extract and 1% NaOH extract belong to the increase group. Holocellulose, α-cellulose belong to the decrease group. Pentosan and lignin remain almost constant. The details of the course are shown on table 9 and Fig. 1. (2) The course of increase or decrease of components closely resemble the condition of wood heated in low temperature. | |||||
