The test pieces were taken from Horyuji Temple which was build of wood (Chamaecy paris obtusa ENDLICHER) for about 1,300 years ago. The results obtained by this test are as follows. [I]Various mechanical strength. The strength are shown on table 7.[II]Relation of Various mechanical strength and moisture content. (1) Result of compression test is shown in fig. 6. (2) Result of bending test is shown in fig. 7 and 8. (3) Result of impact bending test is shown in fig. 9.[III]Specific gravity, moisture content and shrinkage.
