| 内容記述 | 木材の老化を探究する目的で, 古材の機械的性質を試験して, 新材と比較檢討した。古材の試験片には, 法隆寺建築用材として約1.300年を経過したヒノキを用い, 新材としては, 古材と同産地と見做される奈良産のヒノキ及び保存工事に使用されている木曾産のヒノキを用いた。その結果は次の如くである。 | |||||||||||||

| 内容記述 | In this studies the mechanical properties of old timbers were tested in comparison with new timbers to research the change of Properties of wood for many years. The test pieces were taken from Horyuji Temple which was build of wood (Chamaecy paris obtusa ENDLICHER) for about 1,300 years ago. The results obtained by this test are as follows. [I]Various mechanical strength. The strength are shown on table 7.[II]Relation of Various mechanical strength and moisture content. (1) Result of compression test is shown in fig. 6. (2) Result of bending test is shown in fig. 7 and 8. (3) Result of impact bending test is shown in fig. 9.[III]Specific gravity, moisture content and shrinkage. Results are shown on table 9. | |||||||||||||
