Poly (A)-containing messenger RNA amounted to as much as 1% of total pulse-labeled RNA from either soybean or the two fungi. Sucrose density gradient centrifugation revealed that poly (A)-containing messenger RNA from the three sources was heterogenous in size except one which possessed a prominent peak at the bottom of the gradient.
