SMITHとサツマイモネコブセンチュウMeloidogyne incognita var. acrita CHITWOODとの混合感染によつておこることを明らかにし, さらに本病が根に傷を有する場合にのみおこることを報告した。蒸気殺菌した土壌で育てたトマト幼植物の根部における付傷の有無と青枯病病原細菌による土壌接種試験の結果, 根部有傷区は接種24日後に85%以上の発病率を示したのに対し, 無傷区は全然発病が認められなかつた。次に同じく蒸気殺菌した土壌で育てたトマト幼植物に対して, 青枯病病原細菌とサツマイモネコブセンチュウとを土壌に混合接種した結果, 両者を接種した21日後に80%を越える発病が見られ, 明らかに本病は線虫による混合感染によつておこり得ることを認めた。そしてたとえ病原細菌が土壌中に存在していても, 根部に付傷することがなかつたら発病をしない。しかしサツマイモネコブセンチュウは, 根部組織中に侵入する性質があるから, 根の単なる付傷者としてのもの以上の役割を持つようである。","subitem_description_language":"ja","subitem_description_type":"Other"}]},"item_3_description_11":{"attribute_name":"抄録(英)","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_description":"In greenhouse experiments, young tomato plants were grown in sterilized soil to which Pseudomonas solanacearum E. F. SMITH and Meloidogyne incognita var. acrita CHITWOOD were added alone and in combination. When young plants were grown in soil inoculated with both pathogenes, bacteria and nematodes, over 85% of the plants were dead within 24 days after inoculation. When the roots of healthy tomato plants growing in soil inoculated with bacteria only were cut with a knife, over 82% of the plants died within 3 weeks. Neither the control plants nor those growing in soil inoculated with root-knot nematodes only or bacteria only had southern bacterial wilt.
