| 内容記述 | 本報はトカラ諸島科学調査の昆虫類報告の第7報であって鞘翅類の球角群に属するケシキスイ科, ネスイムシ科, コメツキモドキ科, オオキノコムシ科, テントウダマシ科の5科を扱った。報告した種数は31種であり, その中, 4種は新種, 3種は新亜種と認め記載した。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | Regarding the Coleoptera of the Tokara Islands several papers have been published, since the scientific survey of the islands was carried out in 1953 under the management of Mr. Yoshitaka Tsutsui, director of the Osaka Municipal Museum of Natural History. But the beetles reported in those papers form a part of the Coleoptera fauna of the islands. In the present paper I have dealt with the results of my study on the Clavicorn Coleoptera belonging to the families Nitidulidae, Rhizophagidae, Languriidae, Erotylidae and Endomychidae, out of the collection of the Tokara scientific survey. Although most of the species reported here are identified as hitherto known, some of them are seemed to be new to science or new geographical races, and described here below. The type-specimens of new forms are preserved in the collection of the Osaka Municipal Museum of Natural History, as well as in my collection. Before going further I wish to express my sincere thanks to Mr. Tsutsui and other members of the Tokara Scientific survey for their kind help in offering me valuable material.
